I find this song extremely relevant to a subordinate musician in a successful band, a person who is spending a lot of their time and effort on another person's dream. Touring will kill a person. But in a way life is condensed in those moments. Deerhunter's been around almost a decade so the search for something time will never bring might be the dream of what success should be, not what fame and notoriety bring; something I'm sure Mr. Cox knows very much about as an outspoken individual. This song is very much a snapshot of a memory in my opinion. This is all based on my recent experiences as are all interpretations without the artist divulging the true sentiments. |
