| Nirvana – Rape Me Lyrics | 11 years ago |

I know Rape Me was a song about ugly, hairy macho dudes who like to rape, but I can't help but to think about doing a shot of meth all throughout the song. The first time I did a shot of meth, someone had to help me shoot it up... He turned around after rinsing out the rig and asked me if I felt it yet... All I could say was "I feel like Satan is raping me. And I like it." Even "You're gonna stink and burn" because people who use meth are always sweating it out and it's gross. And because missing a shot of meth burns like nothing in the world, it's worse than childbirth. And my epidural wore off long before I gave birth, so... "My favorite inside source" - the vein. "I'll kiss your open sores" - meth users get sores on random places. But especially the end of the song where they're screaming "Rape Me!" because those used to be my exact words when I went to do a shot. |

I think it's pretty to the point, but I also feel like I can really relate to it, so... It's about a "just friends" relationship where dimensions of their lives or personalities render a relationship unworkable, but the dimensions that are compatible leave them unable to let go because beyond just enjoying each other's company, there is a deep connection between them. Truth covered in security I can't let you smother me I'd like to but it couldn't work The "truth" is that even though they love each other (covered in security), long-term, the relationship falls apart. He finds security both in the connection and in not letting himself get too caught up in it. Trading off and taking turns The on-again, off-again dynamic, with other people moving in and out of their lives. They're telling each other and themselves not to wait for the other, and they don't- but they are always keeping the door open while experiencing other relationships. I don't regret a thing No matter how complicated it gets, he feels like this relationship is worth it and makes him a wiser person. I've got this friend, you see Who makes me feel The reason why he holds on- she made him feel more human And I wanted more Than I could steal He wants there to be more deep down I'll arrest myself And wear a shield But he accepts that it won't work and keeps his guard up I'll go out of my way To prove I still Smell her on you (I think I've even heard a version with "him") He'll go out of his way to tell himself there's someone else in her life so he doesn't start hoping for more. Don't, tell me what I wanna hear Afraid of never knowning fear I think all this is an example of Nirvana's self-contradiction, but with some rhyme and reason... Deep down he knows he wants more but he has to fight it. Experience anything you need Do whatever you want, I love you and would never hold you back, but in order to go with that... I'll keep fighting jealousy Until it's fucking gone I'll go out of my way To make you a deal We've make a pact To learn from who Ever we want Without new rules They can get involved with whoever they want, but only as long as that relationship doesn't push the other one out of the picture entirely. We'll share what's lost and what we grew They'll go out of their way To prove they still Smell her on you They still, smell her on you Smell her on you They'll be able to see each other in the end, but whether they like or acknowledge it, the relationship they have with each other will force all of their other relationships to play by the same rules and boundaries. |

| Nirvana – All Apologies Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Guitar riff: The essence of being human while feeling the heat of the sun on your face in the rain. I'm human. Nothing more, nothing less. What will happen will happen regardless. All the worlds' a stage. All the joy and pain we experience, we experience as one. It's gonna be OK. |

| Nirvana – Very Ape Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It's about humanity at large. We say we love but do so only when it helps accomplished a personal goal. Pretending to know it all, we guarantee our own setbacks. | |
