Arcade Fire – Reflektor Lyrics 12 years ago
I tend to agree with gmartin. I think it's asking us to take a look at how we use technology and social media. Is it really advancing humanity in terms of what's important in life or is it just an isolating pleasure to indulge in (reflection of our selfish desires)?

"I thought I found a way to enter / It’s just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor) / I thought I found the connector / It’s just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)"

"Thought you would bring me to the resurrector / Turns out it was just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)"

The religious lines I believe refer to the fact that man has elevated technology to the level of God or even replaced God. In the end, it's not going to be our savior because it just leads us down a path where we're relying only on ourselves without truly making that real connection/relationship.

"Will I see you on the other side?"

Clever lyric with a double meaning. Will I see you on the other side of the reflection (social media/technology) or will i just see myself? And will it get us into heaven (the other side)?

I think, as with a lot of the songs on this album, he's really struggling with believing in God vs atheism. He's incredibly frustrated with God because he sees the continual suffering and he wants an explanation (Calling for the misery to always be explained) but he can't see it or understand the ways of God.
