To me this is about the weakness of men in the light of the everlasting love of God. We're weak, don't know anything (for our wisdom is foolishness to God), but there's still a great future ahead of us: everlasting life in the light! We will be so happy, no more tears or pain. And the song makes it clear that that's not because of us, but because of His grace :-) |

To me this song is about a person who believes and hopes that a former beloved friend will come to know God. This person is now seperated from that friend, because they also had "days of dust", they simply couldn't be together anymore. But this person thinks that if that loved friend one will give his or heart to God again, their relationship can be restored. But untill then, the only thing this person can do, is trust God and rely on Him totally. This person bows, raises his hands, etc., all signs of total surrender to God. This person waits, because its the only thing he can do. But he waits with full expectations that there will be a new sun! And if there is, the relationship can be restored, but not like before (heavy, with his whole heart), but something more rational. |
