As I understand it, the Sons and Daughters of Belial separated from the Children of the Law of One late in the time of Atlantis because they wished to among other things experiment with genetic modification in order to advance faster as a race. Thoth was the first to volunteer but on condition that no one else could. As their ruler, there was peace between the two groups for a long time. Thousands of years passed and wasn't really an act of evil, but once Thoth left it did gradually result in the end of Atlantis. The song meaning is pretty obvious if you know about this sort of thing. Belial is worshipped as a demon in modern times, but like many beings we refer to as mythological or demonic in our age, were actually walking the Earth in the time of Atlantis. |
