Evanescence – Tourniquet Lyrics 11 years ago
I don't think this deals with suicide but self mutilation/cutting in general, the first verse is more about cutting to try and dull the emotional page. Based on how regular cutting is it would probably be on the thigh since those tend to be easier to hide... I think it's more of a mistake while cutting she knicked something and it was enough to start a major hemorrhage, she's sitting there in the bathroom probably looking desperately for something to close the wound but can't all she can do is hold the wound maybe with a towel maybe not and pray that it will clot itself before she bleeds out. Crimson regret, she wasn't trying to kill herself per say but just dull her mind a bit. As for the talk of the 'other side' there's perhaps someone important at least for this song who had already died, 'other side' doesn't have to mean heaven or hell just death in general.

By the end of the song she has accepted her own fate on the situation, her soul cries out that it's finally over what suffering she was enduring at the time and what had originally never intended to look like a suicide now does.

Hoobastank – Crawling In The Dark Lyrics 12 years ago
"Will the ending be ever coming suddenly
Will I ever get to see the ending to my story"
It also can relate back to... "It's not the falling, it's the sudden stop at the end." He has no idea how the life is going to end, it could end tomorrow for all he knows, he wants to know if he can survive til that point or if he will lose himself along the way.

Puddle of Mudd – Blurry Lyrics 12 years ago
Everything's so blurry and everyone's so fake
And everybody's empty and everything is so messed up
Pre-occupied without you I cannot live at all
My whole world surrounds you I stumble then I crawl

Just the first verse here... first line, he's talking about things being unreliable, so many double meanings or 'masks' of life it's hard to find the 'real' people
The second is more of an affirmation, realizing that there's no substance to it and losing the connections that came from those affirmations
The last two, preoccupied about someone, he can't let go of the feeling of worrying about them, it's hard to look forward to look where you are going. Life can make you 'trip' if you can't pay attention to what's ahead as well as behind.
It's just the first part of that distance, the first steps are the most painful.

Poets Of The Fall – Carnival of Rust Lyrics 12 years ago
Also just adding notes... this has to do with the music queues itself not just the lyrics...

Not doing a full song interpretation, there is another way to read the opening verse though.

To breathe the name
Of your savior
In your hour of need
And taste the blame,
If the flavor should remind you of greed
Of implication, insinuation and you will
Till you cannot lie still
In all this turmoil
Before red cave and foil
Come closing in for a kill

First two lines, it can also relate to faith in a person.. Everyone wants the other to stick their head out, to be the 'hero' and right a bad situation.. Or even inward to be their own savoir, but in the hour of need you shift the responsibility to someone else.
And... when the situation is over, trying to blame the person's' for the situation that it was to begin with, even if they're not the one to blame.
"Of implication, insinuation and you will
Till you cannot lie still"
This part I like to attribute to a wonderful line from batman, "It is also evil for good men to do nothing." There's only so much wrongness an average person can take before it gets to them and they need to 'move' to act.
The last 3 lines, it's a more graphic representation too... Bullets = foil, red cave = flesh, broken skin... Coming in for a kill, accidental death, intentional maybe when it started, but at the last point feeling remorse after it happens

Come feed the rain
'cause I'm thirsty for your love,
Dancing underneath the skies of lust
Yeah feed the rain
'cause without your love
My life ain't nothing but this carnival of rust

Come feed the rain, cause I'm thirst for your love
This part relates perfectly to the feeling of remorse after that moment, begging for forgiveness. Begging to take back a single unchangeable moment
Dancing underneat the skies of lust
Crimes of passion, lost in the moment, things got so far out of control due to emotions
Yeah feed the rain 'cause without your love
My life ain't nothing but this carnival of rust
Again begging for forgiveness, realizing at that moment his world has turned to rust. There's no way to change what happened in that moment and his world has begun to crumble.

That's the first verse and chorus and what it seems like at least to me a bit.

Shinedown – 45 Lyrics 12 years ago
Actually... looking at some of the other comments, I think it is actually about murder.

There are situations of murder-suicide, where the feeling is that the world is so terrible at times that it's not worth to try and live within. In their at the time
"broken" mind, the best gift he could give his unborn child was to not live to begin with, since the primary thing that he found in life was pain. "Sparing the person's suffering" is considered a kindness at the last part of painful deaths... If someone so filled with pain believes that life is only suffering, would they want their own children to feel that pain?
