Pretty sure this song is about the band watching their fans/ the crowed sing lyrics back to them. "I watch you taste it", "taste" being a metaphor for the "experience" of seeing the band (Deftones have used the word 'taste' to reference an experience in 'Beware the Water') "I see your face, and I know I'm alive." Is the band watching the fans watch them. As for all of the people who think this song is about someone receiving fellatio or cunnilingus, that is possible too. |

| I think the this song, like a lot of Deftones songs relies on metaphors to communicate a vague picture of what is going on. This isn't the first time the Deftones use the word "taste" to symbolically describe an experience. "Do you like the way the water tastes?" Is just a metaphor for "Do you like this experience?" and then goes on to caution the listener/subject of this song to "Beware the water" , the "water" being the "indulgence" whatever that may be, ex "alcohol, sex, violence, drugs, hedonism." | |

This song is about being infatuated with a man while being in a relationship and considering her significant other, whom she be feels is the "other man" because the man she's infatuated with in love with/ enamored with/ obsessed with the guy who is in her "heart, in my head" and she takes the passion she has for him everywhere she goes to the point at the end of the song she screams and shrieks from anguish, love. "How do I fake it with another? How do I get off on the weekend?" She's trying to figure out how maintain normalcy around her boyfriend while being preoccupied with this man in heart heart and head. |

This song is actually, very gently devastating to me. It doesn't matter how good I am feeling, if I hear or think of the lyrics, it always brings me down a few notches. This song is certainly about a relationship, familial, romantic or platonic. As the song nears the end, it's indicative that the relationship is defintely is the past, "Feel like I could have loved you,", "saved you", "feel like I was a hero". Though the relationship as ended she's still invested in this person being "safe and sound". It's understandable, I have walked away from several friendships because it wasn't my job to safe another person, we as humans can only take another so far until they need to stand up and walk themselves. |

Could this song be about having an affair or feelings about someone you're not married to? In addition in the music the lead sing is portrayed as a king that is wondering the landscape, sometimes finding a place to rest but ultimately unsatisfied and continues on. |
