This song is obviously about poker. It is from the perspective of someone who is gambling and playing every hand they get dealt. They often get all-in in very unfavourable positions, but are optimistic about hitting miracle cards to win. "I don't understand how a heart is a spade, but somehow a vital connection is made" They were hoping for a backdoor flush, but ended up turning a straight draw. |
