| My Morning Jacket – Master Plan Lyrics | 12 years ago |

To me, this song is about ecstasy. When Jim talks about having a "Master Plan", confidently plugging in numbers, planning out a course of action, he sees no way he could ever fall back down to the normalcy where he started off before the drug, (but he brings that up later). The chorus definitely confirms it for me, though, especially the way it suddenly rushes in with a heavy riff and flow (much like a roll): "It's everything that you want babe. It's everything that you need. Soft and warm al the time, make you want it over and over. Strong on the horizon, But ends up bein really so sweet... oh so sweet." Although all signs in the chorus pointed me to thinking it was about x, the biggest line that did was, "Soft and warm all the time, make you want it over and over" |

| Guster – All The Way Up To Heaven Lyrics | 12 years ago |

To me, this song is about ecstasy, and has nothing to do with religion. Ryan (the narrator) is talking about how he is feeling down, wishing he could be more like Adam, (who comes in at the end) and seems so upbeat, happy, and friendly. As ecstasy feels like heaven, and the line "no one gets high on themselves" comes into play, you start to make the connection. And as the upbeat tempo and rythym hits with the "stay the way I am today" line, it seems reminiscent of a roll. The ecstasy connection was definitely confirmed for me in Adam's lines at the end, though. I mean, come on: "It's a warm summer breeze It's weakness in your knees It's perfect place above full everlasting love Nothing to fear Nothing to hide you Just say what's on your mind Needn't think before you speak This is how it's meant to be Ever high never fall You can do no wrong at all In this heaven up above Filled with everlasting love" |
