Before I start off, let me tell you BTT says that they are just Christian guys that formed a band. If you are still fully convinced this is only limited as a Christian band, okay, whatever floats your boat. The song's lyrics meaning is pretty straightforward. A girl is depressed and finds hope through another's eyes. It can be understood as God and/or a guy. Once again, music isn't limited to one interpretation. ANYHOW, I totally relate to this. I haven't cut to a really serious point; I only scratched a few times with a blunt knife. But one of my very best friends saved me from that; the first thing he did was told me that he would always be there for me and that there were so many better ways to deal with pain than cutting. He had a super strong shoulder and loads of patience, so I have successfully been cut-free for over a year c: |

| To me, this is like the theme song of adolescence (except girls aren't gentlemen, but you get the point) He's saying he can't see how you can live being a teen and parents seem to throw you around and dictate you. He feels despondent and powerless like oh so many teens, and he has such a hard time believing in what his parents say. | |
