Ok, this song it's about being afraid of death, so I will try to see what means every verse. "In Nolan time sign What does the mind cover? Are we talking? White is the winter" Here is asking if the mind does it care when one is dead, if there's something deeper than mind when one is gone. "Are we taking? White Is The Winter" it's like asking something obviously and that it can't be avoid (if he's asking that, It's sarcasm, cos' he's talking to somebody, and obviously, the snow it's white), and being afraid of death it's being afraid of something that you can't avoid (Cos' nobody is inmortal, that's what he means with "White Is The Winter") "Care-line, care-lines thumped it up What are your stories all about? Carries a weight on her swing On her swing" I think that Care-lines, it's like lines made of the care that the individual gaves to the fact that he will die someday and he thinks so much of that (That's the "Thumped it up") "What are you stories all about?" The same, all his stories are about death, of what he's afraid of. "Carries a weigth on her swing" Here says that when he thinks so much about it, it makes him weak, like a little girl trying to carrie a great weigth when she obviously can't. "Black waves come And so fear me, December" Black waves means the dark thinks of fear, "And so fear me december" December it's the last month of the year, so it simbolizes the END of a stage, it would mean "The dark thinks are coming, so fear me, end" Fear me could mean that he thinks that the death it's waiting for him, or that he's trying to face his fear, so the end (the death) have to fear him. "Sinking in Nolan time I lost all my pure feelings The psychiatrist posing as psychologist When fear predicts Then doubly the mind suffers Are we talking? White is the winter" Now he's so placed in the fear of death that he can't think of anything else, he can't feel anything else than fear ("I've lost all my pure feelings") He's trying to looking for help, but he can't find real help, cos' nobody can understand him and they think that he's crazy when he's not (The psychiatrist is someone that deal with mental sick people, a psychologist is someone that try to fix the emocional problems of people, that's what it means) "When fear predicts" It means that if he still having that afraid, one can guess (and be right) what will happen to him "Then doubly the mind suffers" It's what the fear predicted, that the mind will suffer "Waltz with me, courageously We're dancing, dancing" Waltz could be like his courage, They are dancing, and that's like saying "I don't care" to the death in her face, and to make that to the thing you're afraid most, you need to have courage. "We will not die! Our days are multiplied And I'm happy again" (The "we" means he, and Waltz) He finally realizes that he don't have to be afraid, and now, the days are longer cos' he enjoy, he's not afraid so he enjoys every moment, and he's happy again, cos' he's not afraid anymore. And the chorous at the end it's a kind of look back to the memories when he was afraid, but that's gone already, so the tune changes, and it changes to a tune like the part of "We will not die!...", so that means that It's really happy again till the end of the song (that simbolizes the end of his life). And that's all, sorry if it was to long, but well. I love this song, I love Mew. Sorry for my bad English. |

I have a theory about this song (REALLY crazy) This song is the romantic love in all his ways to be. This song can have the name you want, becouse, this song is pure love, and the love (romantic love I mean) it's different depending on the individual, and depending on the individual the love It's represented by one person, and the name of that special person, It's your synonymous of love. In this case, the name synonymous of love is Louise/Louisa (Can be gay or lesbian, why not?), but that's for the singer, you can gave to this song the name you want, becouse this song It's love, and the love have the synonymous that you want it to have. I don't know if I explain well, but It's my opinion. GREAT song, one of my favorites of all the time. |
