Lyrics: "We take *tolls* (makes more sense than toes) We rake *coals* (First, he doesn't seem to pronounce a y in this phrase. Second, "to rake coals" means to criticize or overly scold) Yeah, we dig holes And *we'll dig 'em right in your fields*" ("fields" seems to complete the metaphor of "digging," and if you listen carefully it sounds more like "we'll dig 'em" as opposed to "we're diggin.'" ) "We got *cause* (makes more sense than "cars") We write laws (Hard to distinguish from "we're outlaws," but I think "write laws" fits better) We won't pause Don't you know, we're all wizards, welcome to Oz" (This is a really tricky phrase, but I read from an interview that Ryan Tedder stated the lyrics like this, and if you listen to it, it sounds like it, too.) |

The cool thing about this song is it seems kinda silly and frivolous because of all the "um ba ba be, de day do," etc. But at the same time, it's pretty deep, though it's not as easy to realize it at first. |

During the bridge: "Oh my Look how your pride starts fading so" During first verse: "You wore it so much longer than made sense." |

"Don't you know where all this is working the hours." THIS SOUNDS SO RIGHT, FINALLY! Lots of people and websites said "Don't you know we're always working this hard." "We take tolls," "We got cause," and "And we're diggin right in your field" sound like they make more sense, too, but it doesn't sound like he says "outlaws" in the song and it also sounds more like "LA's skies." |

"Got cause" makes a LOT more sense to me lol. But I'm not sure about "outlaws," in the song I think I hear the r, so it sounds like "write laws." |

| Linkin Park – Nobody's Listening Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| This song says a lot about stress, fear, anger, etc. which probably relates to things like bullying, insults, and discrimination. At first, I didn't think of much else other than this, but the title of the song is Nobody's Listening, which made me think about the chorus more. So adding on to the bullying and discrimination part, maybe it's talking about seeking help and trying to stop the bullying, but everyone is too busy laughing at the jokes and mockery that no one listens to you. | |

lol I love how you try to post constructive criticism but ended up with baseless criticism. Their lyrics aren't saying awful stuff about people, they're talking about the awful stuff other people (*cough cough* you) say to them, or so it seems. It's funny, your own comment just turned into how their lyrics are about you saying awful stuff about them, which is why they're bad, or so you say. Backfire much? |

| Green Day – Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I think it's about how you just have to move on from good times, not specifically about love, but about close friends and maybe going to a different school than them. | |
| Evanescence – Whisper Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I agree with some of you about how it can be about bullying, but adding on the it, maybe it's about being paranoid or overcome by fear of being bullied, not completely about the bullying itself. | |
| Paramore – Monster Lyrics | 12 years ago |

In the music video, there's one scene where they're playing in a room, another scene where they're in a hospital and explosions occur suddenly, and another where they're floating in water, and only Hayley is awake. I'll refer to these as Scene 1, Scene 2, and Scene 3, respectively, from now on. However, I don't see anything in Scene 3 with a lot of significance, so I probably won't mention that much. It starts out with Scene 3, and soon shows some parts of Scene 1, though the band hasn't started playing yet. Then, sparks fly from a lamp and the band starts playing during the transition to the chorus. During the chorus, it starts showing certain rooms of Scene 2, but the rooms are all messed up, with chairs moved and flipped over, vases broken, and objects scattered all over the place. Finally, the band shows up in the rooms of the hospital, but they're separated: Hayley on a hospital bed, Jeremy in the hallway, and Taylor in what seems to be a living room or maybe a waiting room. I noticed that the rooms during this part are very clean and not messy at all, which makes me think this is the past or a flashback, and the broken rooms earlier were part of the future. So they're just sitting around, then when the transition to the chorus begins, the band from Scene 1 starts to hit the walls, stomp on the ground, or jump and kick around at the walls, and whenever any of these happen, it seems to cause an explosion for Scene 2 and sparks to fly. With the lights flickering and exploding, the rooms shaking, and things falling, the band escapes from the rooms they're in. At the end of the bridge (or last verse, whatever you want to call it), they happen to end up in the same room, but still need to escape from the building. During the chorus, the band in Scene 1 keep hitting the walls, causing more and more explosions, but near the end of the chorus, they stop playing. Finally, the Scene 2 band, as they run away, they end up in the room that the Scene 1 band was in, and are ready to start playing. In summary, the music video looks like there is a future and past Paramore. For the future Paramore, the rooms are all broken, but for the past, they're tidy. The future seems to be trying to ruin the past by causing the explosions, and later, the past seems to become the future Paramore. The future Paramore probably was the past Paramore at one point, so maybe they're trying to get revenge, or they're doing it out of anger. This could mean two things, interpretively: 1. The future isn't always good. 2. Sometimes, you're enemy is yourself. |

I also think that this song is about not belonging to a group that you thought you belonged to. Like they first pretend that they like you, but ignore you and don't care about you at all. I love this song because I just split with one of my friends who used to be okay, but changed into someone else and stopped caring about me. In general, Linkin Park has songs that you can find a way to relate to if you feel angry or resentful, frustrated about a problem in your life, or any other strong emotion in life, so I really love this band. |

| Linkin Park – Iridescent Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It's obviously about moving on from something, but parts of the first verse (wake of devastation, impossibly alone, etc.) makes me think about someone who lost their family in a tragic disaster. | |
| Linkin Park – Breaking The Habit Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think this is about having a friend(s) who changed and became pretty mean. You still want to hang out with them due to memories of your good times together ("Memories consume, like opening the wounds"), but it really can't work, so you need to just break the habit and separate from them. "You all assume I'm safe here in my room" could mean that they think you still like to be with them. "Inside I realize that I'm the one confused" I think is about them influencing you and now you're losing your original self; you don't know what's right or wrong. "I don't know what's worth fighting for, or why I have to scream. I don't know why I instigate, and say what I don't mean." This could be about when you try to break up with them, you don't know how. Sometimes, you feel empathy for them and you try to be diplomatic and nice without being harsh, but they just don't take you seriously. So you try to say it more harshly, but you get out of control and tend to insult them (which ends up in them thinking you're joking, so they don't take you seriously -_-). "I don't know how I got this way, I know it's not alright, so I'm breaking the habit." Like I said before, you get influenced by them badly and you're trying not to talk or listen to them. The thing is, I don't know what the "battles" and "fighting" is about. |

It's okay that you like Linkin Park, but from what you've written....most of your reasons are pretty stupid. Like "I LIKE THE LOUD BEAT TO IT" and "FIRST ARTISTS THAT HAVE A CD OUT THAT HAS NO CUSS WORDS" just don't really make sense. Don't like music because it has loud rhythm, it's not about volume. And there are many, many, many, many artists that never cussed, and besides, Linkin Park's other albums mostly have cuss words in like one song. Also, cuss words aren't so bad in songs because they add emotion and meaning and you can find the clean version anyway. |

| OneRepublic – Mercy Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| EDIT: Now that I listened more carefully, I think it's all. but I still think it would make better sense the other way. | |
| OneRepublic – Mercy Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I'm not exactly sure, but I think it would make more sense if it was "Oh, I wanted to feel, I wanted to love" instead of "All I wanted to feel I wanted to love." | |
| Panic! at the Disco – The Calendar Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think this song can be about how time passes by too fast. This can mean that the band is splitting up, like others say, because of the rapid change of time. For example, the band first formed and made songs in their high-school years, so maybe school is causing them to separate after the summer. But this song can be very confusing, like the phrases "There is simply nothing worse than knowing how it ends", "I will come back to life, but only for you", and "The world may call it a second chance but when I think back it was more of a relapse", though the last two seem to connect with each other. But overall, all of these lyrics seem to be based on the quick passing of time. |

I love the way they say "(Nothing to lose) Nothing to gain, hollow and alone." It's like a hint of optimism, then it goes dark. |

I'm pretty sure it's either "suck" or "talk". It's definitely not that. |
