They aren't saved by an unfortunate death. Lagwagon brings this idea up in "Gun In Your Hand" as well. The contortionist are people who fill you with impossible aspirations you will never measure up to. The saved innocently filling graves are these downtrodden people who are being fed the wrong answer so they play the game. Your first part was definitely spot on. The first half of the song is like a visceral description of burying your close friend. |
