If I could give you a +100000 I would What you said has already been said many times in many different ways, but you summarized it brilliantly. There isn't much to read into in this song. Anybody who was coming out of teenage years and becoming an adult those days could automatically get the spirit of the song and relate to it somehow. Growing up as a kid in the 80s was generally a nice childhood, at least for the majority of the kids in the developed and non-communist world, but we also lived through the climax of the cold war and the dismantling of the "old world", and sensed the upcoming of a new one full of uncertainties and difficulties. |
