At the beginning of the song Max says: "I fell and slipped in a pool of spit that my parents spat out on the day they split" Which obviously means that his parents split. Throughout the song he sings: "Can you save me, cause I don't wanna end up like they are Can you save me, cause I don't wanna get stuck like they are Can you save me, cause I don't wanna give it up like they are" I feel like him and his wife are going through problems and he doesn't want to "end up like they are" "They" meaning his parents. And also because of Max's bi-polar disorder and his experiences with drugs, his wife is trying to save that. |
