| Bush – The Sound of Winter Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Gavin Rossdale's attempt to reconcile his stormy relationship with a girlfriend produces much of these lyrics. His references her and attempts to idolize her by forcing her, rhetorically, into his religious thoughts. Religion is paramount to his life and wishes things worked out with his girlfriend and wants her to "recompense" or pay back for his pain and metorphorically walk with him again and goes the length by ultimately walking into the "fire" or burn into oblivion as a showing of her love for him. Something she never showed him while they were together. She has to pay this price for breaking his heart and wants her to think like him. He thinks her heart is so unfeeling that "Winter" is the only thing that comes close to being as cold as her. No warmth, bleakness and desolation and hopes shes can hold on to any glimpse of normalness by getting a grip on herself by doing a little personal inventory and re-evaluating of her life and the way she is and should be according to him. | |
