| Read the lyrics carefully and you find that it seems like it's two people that are close friends, who end up realizing they are perfect for each other in the end. (somehow into finally because she takes a little longer) Alternatively it could be about meeting someone over and over in different places like fate intertwines their lives. Or they meet again years later in a car crash?, after living separate lives. Then the time is finally right. Just some thoughts. | |

"She said take a step back, but please keep me in frame." Besides the obvious photography reference, she told him to wait for her because they may not have been ready for the relationship. Maybe they were really good friends and not even in one. So she says keep me in mind, but move on to someone else in the meantime. Yet later, she says well it's been done and it's too late. Going back to "I've Never Told That To Anyone" or "I Told You So," notice he says that he drives by two streets a day with her last name and that we lose ourselves to find somebody else. He stood in her way for years because the timing was always off, or he had issues of confidence and commitment, etc. Maybe they were friends and she didn't want to ruin that. Another man came along that was everything she needed in a relationship, and they end up getting married in the end. So thus, "well it's been done, and it's too late." He walked in with her, alone. He walked out alone. In the end he is alone, and she is married. Thus, he was only in her way, never got the chance to be what she needed, and she ended up marrying the other guy. |
