| Brantley Gilbert – Them Boys Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
A song essentially about the carefree spirit of young boys. As anyone can relate to, boys in high school and college live wild and free, often living fast, partying, and chasing girls, with little thought or respect to consequences of their actions. Boys this age usually have little grasp on the hard, true realities of life, heartache, and responsibility. They don't think of how what they do can affect others; how their partying can lead them into trouble, or how they way the play with girls hearts can affect them. One day, they will hopefully settle down, find love, and realize their true priorities lay in them perhaps supporting their wives and families. But as they are now, they have little concept of that. He reflects on it, talking about how they all went through that phase. He prays, thats its only a phase that they're going through, as no one could successfully live their whole lives with such a lack of care. It also seems that this song, is also nostalgic of that phase. It represents a time when the world was so much more simple, and the real realities of life did not yet weigh down the spirits of these kids. Its a time we all will reflect on in our older years, joking about the trouble we wound up in. Yet, we all know it is indeed just a phase that any one wishing to become someone of substance must eventually give up |
