I love the arrangement of this song. It's in the perfect key for the mood of this song. The simplistic melody stays in the background and lets the meaning of the song be the star. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it 8 years ago (I forget where and why). I get a haunting feeling whenever I hear it. |

It's SO genius. Robert Smith allegedly wrote this entire album locked away in his home while tripping on LSD. (Gah! I've taken acid before, and this album's mood is in NO WAY the kind of thing you want when you're tripping! Talk about inviting a really bad trip there. Ick.)
It never occurred to me before that people have a hard time liking both groups at the same time. I got into them around 1992; all of my friends were into both of them equally, so I never knew any bias. |
