I agree with deafdancer- In this first stanza, I think that it is a person speaking who is having a difficult time expressing her feelings, and whether its because they are who they are etc...sometimes its easier if you could pretend your someone else. I think that the singer is referring to things left unsaid in relationships, how you feel that someone who is close to you should know what is left unsaid....its like the relationship is stalled- "dead in the water", I don't think this is a literal reference,"Dead in the WATER",is a reference for relationships that can't go further because there is too much in between...its like flooding the engine, and stalling out...dead in the water.... |
