@kwilson7770 http://bibleapps.com/hebrews/12-2.htm A number of versions of the Bible has this verse describing Jesus as "the author and finisher of our faith". We can mostly tell that the song up to this point is from the perspective of Jesus, but at this point, to me, it becomes clear that the band wants us to know what kind of authority these words have and are being spoken from. This isn't exactly a well thought out and thoroughly researched reply to your concern, but I hope it gives you (and others) some sort of assurance that from this particular aspect, the song is honoring God alone. |
