Screeching Weasel – Dirty Needles Lyrics 9 years ago
Hey just wanted to put my two cents on to this hope you don't mind well first off I too like that song of @Greenday but I didn't became a fan until their 21st century breakdown album came and one of my fave there was Restless Heart Syndrome. Anyway going back after I got out of highschool years ago I thought my generation was the last revival to be in the emo scene today I think it's more of the hipster running the place or the pop punkers? And as much as I don't want to admit it now I guess I was an emo? lol typical teen depression due to trivial stuff you know the usual. You know the other thing I found out about being emo it's not actually about being dark and those stuff you may think it is all about it's actually a lot more complex so to speak, also if you're a true emo fan have you heard of this following band? (death cab for cutie, Jimmy eat world, postal service etc.) as far as I know MCR as much as I loved them when I was a teen I never really considered them an emo band, gothic a little bit maybe but mostly alternative like PATD! emo bands existed way before we are even born, tracing back to the 80's. About this dude you like well I don't have much of an advice on that I suppose. If you were given a moment just admit how you feel about him and let things fall into place sometimes guys likes it when the girl admits how they feel first especially to shy types, I know haha. Now a days I'm more into indie type of music and some punk rock, I've lost my taste for anything emo when I've realized that being sad all the time just isn't going to help me and having people around who feel the same helped out a lot too. Hope you don't mind, but I suggest writing in complete sentences next time without text abbreviation I know it's tedious, but believe me learning to write properly helps especially conveying your feelings properly through writing.

PS I like your username it reminds me of mine from before [xxLoner_mexx] ohhh the fun times. hahaha

Paramore – Franklin Lyrics 10 years ago
For me this song has always been so meaningful, specially now.
I am stuck in choosing two paths one onto making others happy and proud of me and the other is the selfish path of self discovery and growth. It may not make any sense but wait let me explain. I have always been the type of person to go where I feel like I am most needed and welcomed, I love the feeling of belonging but lately I have been so busy with everything all at once, I'm starting to forget to fulfill my own happiness, making others happy is great but It's taking a huge toll on me and I don't want anyone to know. I have gone so far with what I'm doing, yes, but at the back of my head I still want to go back to those days before I started getting involve and sharing my skills for the use of others, to those days when I did it for fun and a way to relax my mind and soul. I am able to help yes but I don't see myself getting better at what I can do in fact I feel like my works are getting worse, that is why I'm stuck on two paths. I feel like leaving the group/affiliation I have been tied to well finally break the deep depression that's been hunting me for quite a while now.

Man, that was sort of long. lol, anyway going back to the song yep It's the yearning Hayley and Josh to go back to where they started to those days when they do it just for fun and the heck of it, instead of a form of a job that they have to keep doing

Phoenix – Bourgeois Lyrics 10 years ago
Well first and foremost a "Bourgeois" according to the dictionary, lol, is a person whose attitudes and behavior are marked by conformity to the standards and conventions of the middle class, knowing this, the meaning of this song is pretty straightforward.

It speaks of a person, a youth most notably, who lives in this world of comfort being in the middle class has it's perks but of course being in this state also brings one to becoming blind and disinterested of what is happening outside this world pretty much losing ones freedom in the process. A mind that is contented couldn't grow. It could also speak of a person who is never satisfied even when one already has pretty much everything that others could only dream of hence the line:

"Bourgeois
Why would you care for more?
They gave you almost everything"

But it also speaks of the person becoming blind because of the wealth that one has and the conformity it brings.

"You believed almost anything"

They can't have everything just almost, so that the person will be contented but not enough to be able to think for themselves.

well that was my two cents. lol I really don't know what I'm talking about here. :p

Paramore – Anklebiters Lyrics 11 years ago
This song of Paramore is pretty direct in interpretation, The singer is like conversing with another person who has been feeling down on there-selves since they have been trying way too hard to please everyone and forgetting who they were in the process. Life is not meant to be used to please everyone because not all can be satisfied with what you do, even if you try your hardest to do so. Before anything else we need to love ourselves first and accept who we are this is the time you will realize that there are people who well like you for who you are instead of you are trying to be.
