I'm surprised nobody seems to think the guy is either getting heavily drugged for his depression, or is committing suicide... Someone noted (correctly, imo) that there are three parts, and that the third part (written in past tense) is a memory. He lost someone. Part 1 is him trying to deal with the loss, and failing. "there must be more [after death]", but he doesn't suppport that idea and eventually people think he should get over it - "shut up and be happy" [if he's getting drugged, handing him pills is the way they say this to him - which would make more sense if fit wasn't for the gun..] Part 2 is where he's taken the pills. He starts to drift off, staring blankly at the TV. He's got a gun, but he's scared to use it (hence the pills). Before passing out, he starts to hear the voice of who he lost.. Which triggers the memory to part 3. Still wondering if he's just getting drugged or committing suicide... |
