I feel like the song is about suicidal thoughts. when it says "is this the real life?" it makes me think of the different emotions that a conflicted and suicidal person could be experiencing. the man he just killed is himself, and he's telling his mother that he won't be back. the song changes very quickly from a sad theme to an upbeat chant-like thing. This swing in emotion has been found in some people with suicidal thoughts. also "he's just a poor boy from a poor family, sparing his life from this monstrosity" makes me think the song is about being sick of this world, and ending your life. this song is beautiful. and for me, it opened my eyes to this screwed up world we live in. |
