"You sit across the table with both eyes closed. You speak in myth and fable, and stand unopposed. The animal bones reveal themselves from deep within your mane. They reach for ethereal light. The ancient spears rise from her shoulders" I just love how it's referencing Fortess. In the album cover Flidais has both eyes closed with spears rising from her shoulders and animal bones around her. Also Fortess' lyrics are mainly about mythology and fable, Irish to be exact IIRC. "We are still life" is a reference to Sequoia Throne and "you sit across the table" might be a reference to The Dissentience (?). Didn't even realize it was also referencing Kezia in the lyrics, I always preferred Fortress. But I think you got it right Syco, good thinking. |

Alrighty then, let's try that again. Had analysed the entire song and wrote it all here and then I accidentally closed the tab. It's about Christianity during the persecutes. Roman emperor Nero blamed the Christians for the Great Fire of Rome and thus, they were persecuted. Christianity started to grow rapidly, however. People started teaching it to each other, their children etc. Then I remembered my religion teacher telling my class about how Roman soldiers would throw the caught Christians to wild dogs to feast on. "Take everything your school has taught you, throw it to the dogs. Its meat that dries in summer heat and reeks now of its rot. It speaks now of the fate that we await, to be forgot." The first line: see above. The second one, no idea. The third line means the promised afterlife. The "to be forgot" part may mean God may not grant us eternal life after all. - No idea on the two lines after this, probably just some metafors or some shit - "We hope that life exists beyond our lonely bones in the pine box. From the bottom of my heart, at the top of my lungs From the corner of my eye at the tip of my tongue - its everywhere Its everything, everyone. It's anywhere, it's anything, it's anyone" Once again, afterlife. The next three lines most likely reflects the rapid growth and spread of Christianity. Just look it up yourself, it'll save me time and space. "The neighbour saving face by saying grace today for yesterdays Behaviour, bound to tethers girls in leather unveil the true face Of his saviour." The message of Christianity is kindness and forgiveness towards others. I think it also means how quickly people changed their attitudes once they went Christian. Don't really know about the second line, it's some of that goddess stuff Arif mixed into this theme. Not too sure about the rest, I'll have to think about them later. I'll at least try to get this up before I close this tab again. |
