The "backround vocals" are Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman (AKA Flo and Eddie, AKA The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie) They were previously 'The Turtles' and then were with Zappa as backing vocalists in 'The Mothers of Invention'. They were good friends with Bolan and helped him get started. They did the backing vocals and hand-claps on 'Summertime Blues'. Harry Nilsson and Ringo Starr were also big supporters of Bolan and helped him immensely. His schtick wasn't really so much Glam as it was LOTR. |

Uncle Joe is Old School Biker. Has a custom chromed out three wheeler because he's getting on in years. Probably a '49 Pan Head Stroker or something nice like that. Kick start only.Wears old school Gypsy leathers (25 yr old Schott jacket, chaps and steel toed Red Wing engineer boots) as opposed to the new embossed, Chinese made, comercialized crap the new guys wear. Fire Lake is just a nice ride up the canyon. Plenty of young, good looking women to check out. They lay you down so fast because every biker eventually has to lay his bike down to avoid smacking into a green painted cager or to keep from going over the high side. That he was afraid to cut the cake means that he never did settle down and marry his Old Lady, Sarah (cutting the wedding cake at the wedding reception). It would have restricted his freedom too much. Uncle Joe was an Outlaw Biker. The real deal. The Outlaw, Wild Bill Hickock, was shot from behind by Jack McCall in Deadwood, South Dakota, while holding a poker hand consisting of 2 black aces, 2 black eights and the deuce of spades. This is known as "The Dead Man's Hand". If you have ever been to a Bob Seger concert, you would have noticed that at least 50% of those attending are bikers. I don't know any bikers who don't like Bob Seger. |
