Marina and the Diamonds – Buy the Stars Lyrics 12 years ago
I feel this song is to her father. She didn't have a very good relationship with her father, because he was a conservative, wealthy man and always was critical of Marina. I think when she grew older and her music became more successful, he started feeling guilty about the way he treated her attempted to regain her love and trust. Marina realized that her father was trying to buy her love and wrote this song.♥

I think what she's saying is that she made the mistake of dating a guy who is a Libra like her. As she mentions in Hermit The Frog ("You're just a little bit too much like me"), she doesn't like being in a relationship with guys who have the same traits as her, as she thinks they might clash (she's obviously a firm believer in "opposites attract"). He (the

I don't really this this is anybody in particular, but she could've written it as a wake-up call to herself...

Marina and the Diamonds – Plastic Rainbow Lyrics 12 years ago
To me these lyrics are a bit scattered and it's hard to find the core concept of this song.
I think what she's saying is that someone (maybe a boyfriend, an aquaintance, or possibly even her father) has turned her into a fake, cheerful girl even though she is quite negative on the inside. She's tired of being the positive one in everything, but now it's sunk in and she can't help it ("Now all I seem to do is smile"). That's all I can get from the song right now. I'll listen to it a few more times. I really like this song and all of Marina's early demos. ♥

Marina and the Diamonds – Numb Lyrics 12 years ago
Yeah, there are hints about depression, and social awkwardness, and bipolarity, but I believe it is about ambition, espeicially when she is saying "I'm no good, no good to anyone 'cause all I care about is being number one." She is basically saying she has tried so hard to get where she wants to be in life. But, later on, she realizes that maybe that's not where she REALLY wants to be. She finds that what she wants to do isn't all it's cracked up to be, and that there may be more important things, such as friendship.
That's just how I see it.
