@[blacktyger:19139] after attending a concert in Detroit, something Buddy said about losing his innocence when many people died in his town when he was 11 (he may have mentioned a cause but I couldn't discern it) I immediately thought of this song. of course, "when i was afraid i wouldn't ever be the same" and "losing your innocence" seem fairly synonymous. |

I think it's more about how everyone judges the speaker and how everything he is and everything he's done makes him wrong in their eyes. |

I don't really think it's sexist... from my perspective when he says he needs a girl that he can train he means someone a little more inexperienced. The girl who's "a fucking nightmare" he just doesn't feel comfortable around her. So he wants to be with a girl that can learn from him so he feels comfortable and secure. |

I think the perspective is of a guy who's been used to rejection, and instead of this girl stringing him along, he's asked her to just reject him and give him a pain that he's used to. |

I was always a very emotional person, and it's rare for me to come across someone I truly enjoy spending time with. Many people find me comely and generally attractive, and so recently I was asked why I hadn't been with all sorts of women just because I could.
I don't see any fulfillment in that.
And yet, those who I hold close are always the ones who seem to slip away... |

It's about someone who loves another someone so much that he'd forgive anything she did to him. He'd rather be strung along by her than have his freedom - and he doesn't want anybody else, especially not for a short fling or one-night stand. |

Some girl at a rave used me, just to quench her need for attention. When I knew it wasn't going anywhere, I just left her. Some other unfortunate souls couldn't leave her though, but I just couldn't go for that. She won't take my self-esteem, i.e. my "soul", so to speak. |
