Every Time I Die – Kill the Music Lyrics 12 years ago
I think it's an alternate future to Romeo and Juliet: R&J are alive and still together; this is them after X amount of years. The "either you or me or both" reference has no bearing (in this song it means something different than it does in the original R&J.)

But before explaining the plot, I want to correct a common mistake in this forum: 'stutter step' is an offensive move used in basketball and football where the player basically walks sideways (facing 90 degrees away from his direction.) Also, MCR sucks dick. The lyrics are stoopid and gey. I never heard even one good riff from them. They're basically BVB except for BVB has exactly one decent song (knives and pens IMO. the music video adds to it.)

Now then. Romeo and Juliet have been together for quite a while now, and Juliet is dissatisfied that their relationship evolved, first into SEX SEX SEX and then either Romeo or Juliet lost their drive (mojo, if you will.) Juliet tells him with "noble irreverence"(brutal, no-holds-barred criticism) that their relationship is dull and boring. Romeo responds with 'thoughtlessness'--which could mean he doesn't know what to do about it or he's indifferent/perceived as indifferent. Romeo gets angry and leaves her (her geographic position--they both still know he'll come back later for sex.)

The chorus: "if two-timing (cheating) is what it takes, then we know one take is all we need" If they can get their love somewhere else, they'll leave the other person, but they're all they've got and they aren't happy about it. Presumably, they have gotten back together after their squabble.

"Come on baby! give me the creeps, YEAH!" Juliet is upsetting/threatening Romeo, somehow, maybe by reciting to him the death of Mercutio? ("Either you, or I, or both, mUST GO!") Or by giving him an ultimatum, relating to the "it's me or that dog" kind of thing...? This part is kind of discordant.

Anyway. I don't have the energy to interpret the rest of the song. Have a good day.

yeah, that's how all of his songs are (I recall reading an interview where Keith said his songwriting process is to get drunk, then to go over it again once he's sober and make [more] sense of it.)

Yeah, I caught that too. I've gone through the entire ETID (while Keith was the main vocalist, ie from Gutter Phenomenon and on) and there are quite a few Romeo and Juliet references, along with some other books I read in English... I forget which books and in which songs, though.

Good point! Keith Buckley was an English Major and an English teacher before he became a hardcore singer (God, I love to talk about him) and he undoubtedly read and maybe even discussed the book in his class.
