I think this is a brilliant song and I agree with all your interpretations. However, this song brings me back to a particular moment in my life and it seems absolutely silly given how I discovered this song. I first heard this when I was 10 years old, watching WWF wrestling, my favourite wrestler Mick Foley had just retired and the WWF showed a tribute video to him, this was the song to the video. By the end of it, I was crying, however it was not because Mick Foley had retired, it was because of this song. Even at that young age, not fully understanding it, the mood and general meaning of the song still hit. I think this proves what a powerful song this really is. |
