I actually heard this song for the first time this morning, I'm ashamed as I've just gotten into Florence and the machine's music... I love the depth within the lyrics, its amazing with the concept How I feel is as if its either her virginity or her first love, or combination of both taken effect, and he's just messing with her as she had completely fallen for him but now she is realizing with his song that he's not going to come back or settle for her her love has turned into an obsession because she's lost/ losing him. He's hurt and her and the longing for him is so strong she feels that need or longing to hurt him. Even with trying to find that satisfaction somewhere else its not the same as that "first time/ first person" attachment thus the "hunt for you" When hearing the lines "The fabric of your flesh, pure as a wedding dress. Until I wrap myself inside your arms I cannot rest" I felt like it was a situation where she could only feel pure from the obsession is when she's with him, because he was the one who started it all for her, but at the same time I also feel that its the attachment to sex and the obsession that can arise once you become obsessed with the action - Oh and the lines "A man who's pure of heart and says his prayers by night May still become a wolf when the autumn moon is bright" - She was innocent and with giving herself away in the end with she realizes that he's a wolf or as I like to call "a guy trying to get his mister wet" just using for their own feed. I'm just loving this song. Its beautiful. =) |
