| The Cranberries – Zombie Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| I think the term zombie refers to the way the fighting was perpetuated by revenge. Each attack was in response to a previous one by the other faction. Everytime, they used the dead as an excuse. In essence, the fed upon the dead. | |
| CKY – Frenetic Amnesic Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I think this song is about paranoia. The singer is such a paranoid person ye constantly worries about himself and people's motivations. This is especially evident in the line "looking for the truth that ain't there". It is not saying the truth ids not there; what it is saying is that there is no 'truth' no hidden meaning. It's all laid out in front of him but he is so suspicious that he can't realize that. It is further reinforced by the other 'voice's saying there is no resentment here. Meaning there 'they'd hold no grudge no hidden agenda. But again hindered by his intense paranoia he forgets shortly after. This is a warning people; a tale by a talented group cautioning people against being so paramour and ungrudging. | |
| Devotchka – How It Ends Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I believe this song to be about a persons ancension to heaven. The first part illustrates the persons hope that heaven exists. Then the singer reassures the person that yes there is a heaven and that deep downnthey that person knows that does. Next he admitsnthere is no escaping from death. He says that where that persons loved ones are there is no perception of time and what wasnlong for that person is not so for them. The next verse is admirable saying that although life hurt for that person and he feels horriblenand depressed he never let that affect others. He stayed strong and now the singer is.pretty much telling him that it is finally.over. The next verse talks about how that persons deeds stayed with him and now he is in heaven. The rest heavennis great yadda yadda and boom goes the dynamite. |

| Queens of the Stone Age – My God Is the Sun Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I would think it has to do with ignorance. A lot of primitive cultures worshipped natural phenomena as the work of a deity, in this case, the sun. Some other lyrics also support this, such as the fact that the singer doesn't wear a watch (as in he doesn't know, doesn't care). Also, the insignificance of being an ant (atop a spinning rock [AKA the Earth]). Another nod to primitive cultures is the whole waltzing in/on the sky, as early cultures such as the Greeks thought that when heroes died, they became constellations. In that case, the speaker is probably someone else, as he is calling those people heathens. | |
| System of a Down – Toxicity Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Poeple catch most parts of the song right exept for the most obvious part. Eating seeds. It's not a sexual metaphor or any of that crap. If you've seen the video you see the band members eating seeds. That's it. If it was a metaphor it would be taking the lesser, but immediate joy instead of the long term, greater enjoyment. Think What feeds you more, a seed, or the plant that emerges from waiting and taking care of it? The latter, of course. But we need gratification NOW. Just in case you don't get it, the whole disorder chorus is saying "how can you own something so out of control, so chaotic" to people in power (goverments, whatnot). | |
| System of a Down – Hypnotize Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I would think that by the whole fashion line, meaning that the people at The Square were there for a reason, not because it was a fashionable cause like global warming. By the whole sitting in the car, my meaning there is tied to the next part. The lyrics say that the girl is dreaming of her country with no one there, when the guy outside just wants to take her out for a date. This would be an example of paranoia, fed by the media. The guy is "just siting in his car" not taking her away from her country, it's just a date. The whole A-A rhyme scheme part is transparent in it's meaning, there's no point in talking about it. |
