"They'll be fans" Those who make rhymes have too much time on their hands. Picking words for their sound and meaning instead of rhyming/ iambic pentameter is the true meaning of music. Connecting the dots between classic and punk was the goal of Nirvana. The season of love or hippies ended thanks to disco and the 80's. A failed revolution. What do we get? We could loose it all. The first lines show being held captive and in an emaciated state. When starving a person can experience hallucinations and euphoria. Mental purpose has been removed due to the darkness therefore imaginary personalities are created to adapt. They exist to preoccupy and prevent insanity and the friends will be carried on sub-consciously. Because of the Nirvana the victim may or may not even be alive but abandoned and left for dead only to be rescued by his own conscious "they bring out the older ones". "they" is very vague because only , They lady, hers and first person are used. Therefore they could refer to either aliens or the peace within the persons mind. Because "They took my family away" which created the victim's Nirvana rather than the Mother's whose was earlier in the narrative. There are two Nirvana's according to my interpretation. Either this or the whole song is about the holocaust. |
