This song is truly a masterpiece in disguise. The lyrics, while seeming to be meaningless, deep down are quite philosophical. Allow me to try to put them to words. "A million miles from nowhere", quite obviously, symbolises isolation and solitude. Murderface, has felt lonely and underappreciated on several occasions, and it was that which inspired him to write this song, while the line "dragon lance burns hot", on the other hand, symbolises his creativity, burning with a passion, but going unnoticed because of the isolation. "In the fire of a horse's ghost" is a little harder to understand, and I would not be angry with someone for overlooking that one. A horse is a companion that one can use to carry his own burden. What Murderface is saying there is that he carried the burden of the band. But what if he were to pass away. To leave, or just to fade into... A horse's ghost? Would the fire - his creativity - be lost? The minnow, symbolising the potential that Murderface was, certainly has been, as the following line describes. "Tits". Breasts. The organ for nourishing offspring. The "offspring" are either the bands' music, or even later the listeners. The breasts the creativity of each band member that contributes to them. Again, the fish the potential for each member. "A fish with tits" is where he draws the connection between creativity and his potential to help the band. Titty fish. Give Murderface an album where he writes all the music. He is an overlooked genius. |
