First, the Space Monkey is referring to the choking game that's often played by teenagers, where they try to asphyxiate to one of his partners, when he's almost left without oxygen, they let him breathe again, so that quickly income of oxygen into the brain creates a sensation of euphoria and daze, so is like having an effect of feeling high. But in this particular case, the Space Monkey is referring to the Asphyxiaphilia, which is the Erotic asphyxiation for sexual arousal. So I interpreted the whole song as a story about an encounter between a man and a woman, who are trying to find new experiences when they have sexual intercourses. There's not very much information about the man in the song, just that he's very excited for what his about to do. She in the other hand is described as a very atractive woman, who mesmerize everybody, because of her meretricious look. However, she has become the talk of the town, and she has been judged by all the people. So the man feels great expectations about the woman. They meet each other and they going to do it, but something happened that the woman is a virgin and is fearful and is frigid, so she has faked the orgasm. The man has left dissapointed and want to find new ways for make the things better, because she's a poke in the eye. So he propose her to make the Space Monkey with the intention of create a sexual arousal in her. So while they sown together, and he is asphyxiating her, he's asking her not to fake the orgasm because is something sacred for him and don't let him down like she did it before. |
