Alright I feel like I pretty much have the song down. I think the main reasoning for people getting confused is these lines: "Now there's a whole wide world...that wants to know Have cheap hotels lost their turn-on? she's bathing in the neon And she's polluting all the airways while I'm passed out in the hallway" Now those lines instantly make me think that she is a total whore. But then think about the next lines: " I'm passed out in the hallway And you left me so in love here, you left with so much hate dear Was I creating only chaos" This makes me think that she left him (probably for someone else) or she was cheating on him and he found out. Now he is pissed off and is saying these things about her and comparing her to a cheap whore when in reality (caused by the last lines I quoted) he is depressed and can't stand to live without her. "Will it change your life if I change my mind? When she's lit the whole wide world I want to know if you will beg me and then tell me how to love you Like anybody else would" Now to me this is talking about how when he found out about her affair she broke it off with the other and came running back to him but he couldn't bare it, he didn't want her back but at the same time can't stand that it's over. "Like anybody else would" Talking about the other person who might claim to "love her." "You better fucking love her" This I believe is the point where he has given up and she has gone back to the 2nd guy. This is him telling that other guy exactly what the lyrics say "you better fucking love her." In my mind it's a very amazing song. The lyrics, gold. The instruments, amazing. The singers voice for this music, perfect. |

| Scars On Broadway – World Long Gone Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| To me the song is all about him being what he is, Daron has always been a pretty large activist. A lot of songs are about things of a similar topic. In this particular song it's pretty obvious that he's talking about how people are starving in the world ("Maybe I don't know, how many people are starving.") and most people are just sitting back and watching, not knowing and not really caring. ("How many people are starving, In this world long gone") This song actually reminds me A LOT of System of a Down's song "Hypnotize" In Hypnotize (which was written by Daron) they speak on how there are so many things in this world that need our attention and are in need of fixing but most people are just, "I'm just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl." Love both bands and wish System would get back together and make a new album.... :( | |
| Scars On Broadway – Chemicals Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| For anyone who actually really thinks that anything Daron Malakian (lead singer and song writer for Scars on Broadway and also was the 2nd lead singer for System of a down and lead guitarist fr both bands.) writes is "has no special meaning" are stupid. Everything Daron, or Serj Tankian (lead singer for System of a Down) for that matter, has meaning behind it. A lot of times it's a lot more complex than what we are thinking of. In my opinion it's a song about the world fucking you up, no one really caring so the person turns to drug abuse and says "Fuck the world." | |
| Rise Against – Hero of War Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
This is a really powerful song for anyone who knows anyone who has fought in war. It is one of the best to describe the feelings and thoughts of a soldier. One of the first to actually say what REALLY goes on. In the song it talks about how he thought he was going to travel the world, it would be an easy job. "He said son, have you seen the world? Well, what would you say if I said that you could Just carry this gun, you'll even get paid I said that sounds pretty good" When in reality it's hell. At first he stays true to his morals but then falls prey to irrational acts of a more barbaric nature that seem's to appear within men when they fight. "They took off his clothes They pissed in his hands I told them to stop But then I joined in We beat him with guns And batons not just once But again and again" Then you have the climax of the song when he see's this girl running towards him. He has no choice but to gun her down. She has a "flag white as snow." So he realizes that he has gunned down and innocent girl that did nothing wrong. He realizes what war is, what it does to people. He is forever changed by it and can never go back. But he always remembers what he did those days. "A hero of war Is that what they see? Just medals and scars So damn proud of me And I brought home that flag Now it gathers dust But it's a flag that I love The only flag that I trust He said, son, have you seen the world? Well what would you say, if I said that you could?" Very sad song but has a lot of truth to it.Thank you Rise Against for another one of your master pieces. |

| Rise Against – Architects Lyrics | 12 years ago |

In my opinion this is another one about the society we are living in today. We let the government and corps push us around without us ever standing up for ourselves. I believe that the word "Architect" in the song really means "individuals." People who aren't part of the crowd. People who do things they want, what they like for their own reasons and aren't following others blindly like cattle to the dog. "Are there no fighters left here anymore? Are we the generation we've been waiting for? Are we patiently burning, waiting to be saved?" "Our heroes are icons that mellow with age Following rules that they once disobeyed They're now being lead when they used to lead the way" People before us built up this land and we are allowing it to fall again. Are we going to allow this? Are we going to stand aside and allow these things to continue? "They laid out the blueprints They poured down a base Concrete solutions to slow our decay But when they are gone Who the fuck's gonna take their place?"< Who's going to be next? Will all the hero's die out? All the "Architects"? This song is a really powerful and inspirational piece of work. I love it and love RA. |

| Rise Against – Behind Closed Doors Lyrics | 12 years ago |

In my opinion it's all about America. The government and how everything has been playing out the past few years. "Chairs thrown and tables toppled, Hands armed with broken bottles, Standing no chance to win but, We're not runnin', we're not runnin'."- The American people in a great civil conflict with our leaders, we aren't armed like them, we haven't any chance of winning but yet we stand as one. "Time out, let's stop and think this through," Pretty easy< lol. "We've all got better things to do,"-We are bothering with little things that aren't really that important. "A talk in circles run in place,"- No one is really deciding anything, we just run in circles and never accomplish a thing "Answers inches from my face."- The answers are beyond obvious yet we don't do anything about it. "There's a point I think we're missin',"- We aren't seeing everything like we should, we are missing something, a simple and obvious point. "It's in the air we raise our fists in,"- We (the people) stand as one together for whats right. "In the smiles we cast each other,"- Oppressed by the people we allow to lead. "My sister, my brother."- The people, the American people. I love this song and I love this band. One of the most unique sounding bands I have ever heard before. |

| Blue October – Hate Me Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I don't understand how anyone could possible HATE this song, it connects with something we have all had to deal with which is the main point in the song. Disappointing out mother or other parental figure. By doing stupid stuff and putting her through hell and then never remembering to say sorry the next day. Really great song and I'm not even a very big fan of Blue October but this song is amazing. | |

| My bad, I didn't look up the dates. That's just what I had originally heard. | |
| Slipknot – Snuff Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Actually guys, the song itself was written by Corey Taylor for his very, very close friend "Paul Gray" "#2" the bass player until 2010 when he was said to have OD'ed in a hotel room. Corey puts all his heart into every word of every song in my opinion but this was has so much more too it... | |
