| This song means a lot to me because it reminds me of a few friends from high school that I have. After graduating, they kind of individually decided to go off on their own and go on these trips to find themselves. One friend in particular was always travelling and found himself living in Seattle, Hawaii, and Montana amongst other places and would get depressed when the newness wore off and always ended coming back home for a few months to remind himself of who he was, despite the interesting things that would happen to him in other places. | |

This song makes me sad/happy. It's weird. I think that she knows and cares about somebody who has trouble seeing life for what it is. Once you get depressed or stuck in a rut it's so easy to just not do anything. Your walls go up and you can't really see outside of them. Jenny is trying to help this person because she understands and wants them to see that life doesn't have to be sad and depressing, and not everybody is judging you. "Racing through our goodbyes" - this person can't handle situations correctly and has a tough time communicating or accepting love. Pretty much, when you take the step out of your box or your walls, you can see how life is not so complicated when viewed from a certain point. "You can sell your baseball cards just to pay your rent" - I think this is a good way of saying 'you can trade your past for your future,' or 'here, the solution is right in front of you'. yeah. |

| Jenny and Johnny – Animal Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I think this song is just about stripping your ego in a way and seeing past the egos of others. We're all animals overall, and once you get past "the fear of God" or the boundaries of society you can come to terms with what you are: something simple at a first glance but immensely complex once you see past that. | |
