In new age parlance, the color green is associated with the heart chakra which is itself associated with higher consciousness and love. I know how uncool that sounds, and I'm not saying that the band is into new age quackery. I think it's an interesting idea though and as something of a Jungian I think that it's certainly possible that we (or artists particularly) recognize an unconscious connection between this color and the concept of love as we understand it. Hence the correlation between this, The Great Gatsby, Hitchcock, etc. It's obvious that SY utilize the unconscious liberally as inspiration for their art. |

This is a song partially about suicide by handgun to the mouth. Hence all the references to the end, the dark place, (suicide) letter being found, it will ease this pain, end this thing, lay there with your mouth on mine. Atleast, that's my twisted interpretation. |
