The Shins – Sleeping Lessons Lyrics 5 years ago
@[Risiko:35196] This song isn't about old people holding young people back or a mid-life crisis- it's about taking control of your life and stopping being a passenger / observer watching events happen to the subject in the lyric. It's a carpe diem song - stop putting up with your family's bullshit, get off your ass and take charge of your own life.

Midlake – Roscoe Lyrics 11 years ago
It's a twist on the Libretto from Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf". Watch the video for 'The Old & The Young' and you'll see the theme.

Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is an indictment of the post-911 / Bush-Cheney selling of the war in Iraq and the ensuing stupidity and gullibility of the American people and the news-as-entertainment phenomenon.

Hail to the Thief would expound on these themes, but Thom Yorke was already aghast with the observations of robotic, humanoid, Amero-idiots who believed every line of bullshit being fed to them by the White House, Pentagon and news media outlets in the soft selling of the war.

A coup d'etat in slow motion. Pathetique!

C'mon, people - its not so difficult if you just open your eyes and use your head!

Radiohead – Nude Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is simply about putting people in their place - specifically those religious folks who think they know Jesus and tell you you're a sinner and going to hell:

"You paint yourself white" (you think you're pure, self-righteous)

"And fill up with noise" (you meddle in others business, point out their sins)

"But there'll be something missing" (St. Peter won't greet you when you're gone)

"Now that you've found it, it's gone" (born again evangelical's claim they found it / him)

"You've gone off the rails" (you've gone overboard in your beliefs / rhetoric)

"You'll go to hell for what that dirty mind is thinking" (see the irony now?)
