Failure – Saturday Saviour Lyrics 12 years ago
I'm not one to make outrageous claims, that every damn song is inevitably about drugs, but if a dirty syringe of smack could talk to it's user, it's words would probably be identical to what Ken is singing. Honestly.

The whole song, every statement, is one mainly of indifference. The drug is indifferent, it just wants a bit of your time..

Perhaps the user finds comfort in the drug, obviously a "saturday savior", but it gives little more than a superficial physical high.. It's taking the place of a human relationship, when it cannot provide many of the things that such an arrangement naturally would.. Much like a "friend with benefits"..

"I'm never gonna make you feel
That you're satisfied
I'm never gonna feel your pain
Like you wish I would
I'm never gonna open up
More than this
I just want to be your
I just want to be your"

Pretty self explanatory. Perhaps the whole "imposter in your bed" is just referencing how the drugs transform this person into someone else.. He becomes the drug, personified.

I'm never gonna break apart
Quite like you
I'm never gonna long for life
The way you do
I'm never gonna push you out
'Cause your not in
This will only take a while
'Cause I only want to be your
Saturday saviour

Another verse of indifference, much like the first two. The drug habit cannot feel for it's victim. The user may break down struggling to live, but the drug itself will continue to thrive.

Hopefully this actually makes as much sense to the rest of you as it does to me.. It actually fits much better than the whole "friends with benefits" sort of thing.
