Anathallo has always fascinated me with their unique use of music to communicate (and effectively, I might add) their ideas. What I find most interesting is their implicit revealing of God in their songs. After reading their lyrics, it is clear they are beleivers in God in some sort, but they rarely ever make it clear God is what they are talking about. This song has to be one of the most moving songs done by them (to me). Their clever use of different sounds, tones, and instruments always works perfectly well with what they mean to communicate, but this song nailed it especially well. I notice with anathallo that there is a sort of "weirdness barrier" I had to get past in order to appreciate their brilliant music. Every time I listened to a song I appreciated it more. Also, Anathallo is a "headphones" band. I've never seen them live, but I can't fully "catch the ride" of their music unless my eyes are closed and I am focusing on just the song. (Perfect for ten-hour train rides.=D) I interpret this as a song addressed to God Himself. The music invelops you in their world and you feel as if you are saying it yourself. Maybe it is because I can resonate with the message of this song, but I ound this song especially moving, almost to the point of tears. I know almost all of this is not necessarily relevant to the song meaning, but I am essentially the only one I know personally to love Anathallo (much less know of them) and I just wanted to share that. Thanks. |
