| Dan Auerbach – Trouble Weighs A Ton Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I see this song as Dan trying to reach out to see that he is not alone in his trouble. So he looks through the lens of his family to connect his troubles with theres. The lines that start with 'Oh, dear..., trouble weighs a ton' is there to sort of agree and say yeah, trouble does weigh a ton and I see it in you as it is there in me. For me this song is structurally amazing because I think the song is about Dan and yet he uses other people to hide and at the same time expose this point by connecting their emotions with his emotions. |

For me this song is about sort of breaking free. It's about not worrying, not playing life if it's a game of chess, it's just doing. Doing whatever you want and not caring about what comes out of it. It's interesting because, at least in my experience, it really is hard to just be. Everyday is either a conscious or unconscious analysis of what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. For me, this is just the antithesis of that in every way. |
