Any Adrian Monk fans out there? This song reminds me of him......I remember an episode where Captain Stottlemeyer says something like,"I used to think that Monk..wasn't all there,like he wasn't human or something. Now I know what his real problem was. He was too human. He was seeing more, feeling more than any of us." He's so brilliant, it's like he has super powers, but he's really only human. In another episode, Monk is talking to Dr. Kroger, who says(in reaction to something Monk tells him),"That's good, Adrian. It means you're human." Then Monk smiles and says, " Its been a long time since someone called me that." I could go on and on like this. And I know this isn't what the song-writer intended, but it's what I think of when I hear the song. I also find it funny to think of some of the verses literally in this case like 'I can't stand to fly' and Monk is afraid of flying:) I like the Boyce Avenue cover of this song. |
