High Days was Bert's tribute to Cliff Aungier. This is obvious from the reference to the "lady from Baltimore" which was the name of an LP Cliff brought out which contains a cover of this Tim Hardin song. I first heard Cliff about 1968 and was impressed with his version of green sleeves "bluesleeves". I don't think Cliff Aungier got the recognition he deserved |
