It's a beautiful song and the video clip just completes it. The video stars and ends with the girl being & staying alive... :) and there is always a turning back point, every time she would die, she'll be born at her happiest moment with her love... in the first verse The "Grace of God" are the goodness of life we enjoy freely, and love is that... so all she wants and all she knows is that free joy, free love & she keeps it.. :) . "Oh, it won't be long Until their hold is broken Oh, it won't be long Until we've found our home " . I have to interpretation in here: the first one would be, the thing that's keeping them apart is soon to be over and they would be together again permanently... (or they are together for that moment until they find their permanent home, meaning someone who they'll love for the rest of the life, they love each other now but they are in different dynamics of life at this point, which will explain why the guy keeps moving on his own way...) . "It's for the good of you I sing sweet melody They'll cast the first stone When the last one's out of reach " . and this is the hope zone, and never give up : "They'll cast the first stone When the last one's out of reach " ; so even when everything looks like its over they star it again be born again, like a never ending story... :) . "Forget where to begin Brother I have not sinned I have not . But for the grace of God She'd cry herself to sleep But now the grace of God Is the reason that she weeps" . here I see the guy's perspective; he too gets back to the same point of birth & joy & love, meaning he wants the girls and wants her to stay alive, he tries to find ways how to begin again and so she wont have to die bcoz he has not sinned... . "When summer comes, light my life Snow will melt away" . summer is always fresh and beautiful and all positive, so he waits summer in his life, snow will melt away, meaning the misunderstandings and "the thing" that holds them back will be gone, for summer is a new beginning for them both. . "I was born again, I was born again Not into the world they put me in She was born again, she was born again Not into the world they put her in " . so here is the freedom, they both be born again, be free to decide by choice and not by the circumstances "the world they put her/him in", and the video clip ends with the girl being alive, which confirms the 'being born again', they both are free to live by choice! .
