| Blur – Villa Rosie Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I didn't dig deeper into the lyrics, but "Villa Rosie" sounds like a name of a brothel to me. | |
| Morrissey – Let Me Kiss You Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| This is terribly sad but executed beautifully, as usual. Oh myyy! | |
| The Vines – Highly Evolved Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
I have to admit that I don't know what the fuck does Craig mean by most of his lyrics. But after reading @onemanorgy's comment I thought of something. We all know that Craig used to really like his Mary Jane and this may as well be a song about being high (highly evolved sounds like a great synonym for being high! :D ). Reading the 1st verse again with that thought in mind really convinced me there may be something to this theory. "I'm feelin' happy So highly evolved" =You feel nice and at peace when you are high, you find many things funny. You just feel happy. "My time's a riddle that'll never be solved." =You mostly lose the track of time because it is easy to be fascinated by something or get lost in thoughts often and in that case time flies like crazy. "Dreamin' for somethin' Reachin' for somethin' Just waitin' for the sun to carry me in." =Description of that state of physical laziness you are in. It's not your body that is active, it is your mind wandering around. (The last line is my favorite :)). The chorus is pretty obvious. If you're low you can call dealer and buy some. It has been proven that marijuana helps people who suffer f.e. from depression. But he is already high, so he can't feel low, erm. Have to admit that I have no idea what does the line mean though. "My brother Bill He work for the market Life is an arrow now and he is the target." |

| Gorillaz – Rock The House Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| One of my favorite Gorillaz songs. It is incredibly fun and lighthearted (as opposite to most of Gorillaz songs, which I love, too :)). It always makes me wanna shake my ass, which I suppose, is the main goal of it :D | |
| Pearl Jam – Love Boat Captain Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| What a wonderful line: "First comes love and then comes pain, let the games begin". Because that's just the way love is. | |
| Pearl Jam – Wishlist Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Again, I am absolutely amazed by Eddie's writing. Sounds simple, but it is sooo beautiful. | |
| Pearl Jam – Porch Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I don't think it is about abortion. To me, this song is about bad time in relationship with someone you still love. But at the same time you drive each other nuts ("Daily minefield, this could be my time by you?") This situation goes to the point where you start thinking about leaving that person (leave the porch), because all that shit doesn't seem to be worth it anymore. It seems like a last warning to your significant other. Look at me, be good to me, because if you are not, this may be the last time you see me by your side ("Hear my name, take a good look. This could be the day. Hold my hand, lie beside me"...). |

| Pearl Jam – Longing to Belong Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Such a beautiful song. It sums up my current situation pretty well. | |
| Mother Love Bone – Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Even though this song is more than 8 minutes long, it keeps you interested the whole time. It's 8 minutes and 18 seconds of pure awesomeness! The lyrics are poetic and the music is great. My favorite line would definitely be "This is my kind of love. It's the kind that moves on. It's unkind and leaves me alone", I can relate to that! | |
| Blur – Bang Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I've been thinking about those lyrics for quite a while but now, that I'm single, it is finally so obvious! Bang is about being single, feeling alright that way and just enjoying frequent one night stands, about not needing a serious relationship. I guess it is more than possible that I'm right about that one. It sounds a lot like Damon in the Leisure years- cheeky, single and wild. "Sitting in an SDT" part is waiting for train in the early morning/late night after a party. "Bang goes another day. Where it went I could not say. Now I'll have to wait another week" Means that the weekend is over and he can't remember much of it. He has to wait another week to have days off and party. "Everybody's doing it, so I'll do it too" Is a kind of excuse, saying that it is nothing bad, because it's perfectly normal among young people to party and have sex. The chorus: "I don't need anyone. But a little love would make things better" is saying that he is feeling great by himself. I am sure that "little love" means sex, I guess that it is actually the phrase with which he is offering sex to a stranger girl. "Sitting on the early bus Passing through the morning rush It makes no difference that I'm not with you" Again, coming home in early morning after that certain party where he met the girl and slept with her. He is not missing her at all. It doesn't matter that she is not with him. He is ok by himself. And the last sentence: "But a little of YOUR love can make things better" is definitely a flirt phrase. At last, but not least...when you think about name of the song..."Bang", it has double meaning. You know...banging, sh*gging, fu*king ;) |

| Blur – Badhead Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Badhead is one of my favourite songs by Blur. It sounds very sad, but also very beautiful and gentle. In my opinion it's a song about having a serious fight with a friend or lover, just someone who is very important to you. But now, for some reason, you can't look each other in the face, waiting for the other one to get in touch with you, but at the same time being afraid to make the first step. Your life seems very dull and empty without that person. | |
| Blur – Beetlebum Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Oh god, how I love this song. It makes me feel so good...kind of melancholic, but happy for sure. I've never felt like that before while listening to a song. It's genius. | |
| Blur – Stereotypes Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
At first I also thought that the song is about a widow who is just having fun after her husband died, but when you read/hear closely, the whole lyrics make perfect sense. I'm almost sure that this song is about two middle-aged married couples whose sexual life got boring over the years so they try something new and exciting- wife swapping ("Wife swapping is the future"), maybe they already did it a few times. Therefore the name of the song "The stereotypes" has double meaning: The stereotypical couples who look absolutely normal are doing this thing that doesn't seem normal to most people. And all four of those people are trying to overcome the stereotypes in their marriage by doing something different in their sex lives. |
