Depeche Mode's Higher Love ain´t merely a 'pop love song' as we usually understand all pop love songs. Doesn't talk about eros-love (she-him). The song take you to a level in which all symbols are burnt out, or exist just to lead to a thought level. This state of consciousness doesn´t show -as i read- in the name of a personal god or godess. All that keeps in a platonic being-in-the-world. Instead, the song talks about the grounding of Life between the own Work. That's not a Work of the own ego; in fact, the Work needs all the ego-ism to set the ground, it need necesity to be done. (sorry for my precarious english..i just started to learn it) |
