I believe the song is about Romania inviting Moldova to join her, instad of Russia/Ukraine. Haiduc means a Romanian who fought for freedom, not just an outlaw. The linden tree is also a tree linked with romanian identity. Picasso may be a sign of latinity (he is spanish and he fits the stereotype), instead of Slavic. By the way, the group is Moldovan. |
