At first, I kinda thought it was sexual. Well, now it isn't. In my eyes, this song is about a force that suppresses the singer. I doubt it's like Hitler, but more like she lives with people that make her feel horrible. It's either a family member or a husband. The lyrics, Love you for God, Love you for the Mother, mean that she has some sort of bond with this person that is set in stone, like wedding vows or blood, so it can't mean a friend. In the song title, Black Milk, it could mean something pure was tainted, like the singer's virginity or just her blood. The first stanza shows rebellion, that she wants to rise to whatever is suppressing her, but she can't due to a forced love. The second stanza shows that she has succumbed to the force, and the forced love has taken over her life. The third stanza shows her thoughts of the suppressor. The suppressor thinks that he/she is better than the singer, but in reality it is just a front. The fourth stanza then tells us that something happened that makes her tied to the suppressor in more than just a forced love. The line Son Kid Child could tell us that the singer had a child with the suppressor, so you would infer that it is her husband, but I think it is actually incest. The line right before it says The Most Black Road, meaning that this child was made in wrong reasons. The last stanza says God Stares To Marvel, Only Love. I believe this means that God is amazed at the singer's lack of faith. Before, I mention the love is also religious, but the act of incest betrays the singer's faith, but the singer claims it was only in love in order to still grasp something that still holds the singer's old self. |
