The Beatles – Yellow Submarine Lyrics 12 years ago
Beatlemania is always not something that can be figured out by traditional psychology, transactional analysis, or anything quite that absurd. The explaination for the song is socially unacceptable by conventional thinking, even to the present day. Read your back issues of science fiction magazines for the answer, it's in several languages, the story was that popular. It's just a violation of conventional thinking, the answer is not a no-brainer.

"The psychologists got Beatlemania all wrong". Did George Harrison or Ringo Starr say that?

Comfort versus the obligations of love

The subject of the song goes to the church to seek moral support

There is conflict in the subject of this song, internal conflict

The individual in question might be homesick

California Dreaming - transcendental meditation, wishful thinking

The Zombies – She's Not There Lyrics 12 years ago
Maybe there's something on the order of what goes on Dr. Who going on there.

Equally valid are interpretations that it is a song about someone who is transgender. This could be argued, successfully. If she is now a he, then she no longer exists. The LGBT movement is extremely popular on this planet in this time period.

This video should explain it best. Obviously, in the situation lies are necessary. Thank you to whomever took the time, effort, and trouble to contribute this lovely video.

Certainly, the chick in the song does have a somatoform disorder, or a way of being autonomous without a particular ego. The same would hold true if the subject of the song would be a male. A somatoform disorder is a way of remaining functional, in the face of the extremely unusual, painful evolution, or impossible. Probably it's depersonalization disorder. However, using a male as the subject of the song would not be politically correct.

Social lies are quite common in genres like science fiction and horror. The Outer Limits was science fiction, as were the Zombies.
